The instrument is mainly used to analyze and evaluate the water sensitivity of shale samples or the inhibition performance of relevant treatment agents by measuring the hydration expansion of shale samples due to the interaction between shale samples and treatment agent solution in high temperature and high pressure simulation test.
During the formation of shale, due to the pressure of overburden pressure, part of formation water in the gap between shale particles will be squeezed away, and the ion concentration in the pores of rock particles will increase. After the local layer is drilled, the shale will absorb water and expand and produce large expansion pressure, resulting in the formation of shrinkage, collapse, and drilling sticking and other drilling accidents.
High temperature and high pressure shale dilatometer is mainly used to measure the expansion amount and expansion rate of shale sample soaked in treatment agent solution. It can make correct judgment in the following aspects and get practical conclusions.
1. For the same kind of shale samples, the test was carried out under different treatment agent solutions to determine the ability of the treatment agent to inhibit hydration expansion, so as to optimize the effective shale hydration expansion agent.
2. For the same kind of shale sample, the test is carried out under the condition of the same treatment agent with different concentrations, and the concentration and ratio are determined under the condition of meeting the use requirements.
3. Under the condition of soaking in the same treatment agent, the expansion amount and expansion law of different shale samples are measured. After several cross tests, the test results determine the program and law of shale affected by various treatment agents, which can be used for the research work of shale classification.
